Are we boring ourselves fat?

New research shows 85% of people admit to unconscious eating – where they don’t think about what they eat and certainly aren’t asking themselves if they’re really hungry.

60% of adults say that they know they eat too much, but boredom has been highlighted as the biggest trigger for unconscious eating and may explain why many of us are piling on the pounds.

The study by the Jenny Craig weight management programme found the other top triggers for unconscious eating are depression, watching TV and the desire to feel happy.
