64% of single parents say going on holiday is hell

Going on holiday is the hardest thing about being a single parent for 64% of individuals according to a recent survey. A staggering 94.1% claimed money was the main factor and as a result 56% go on holiday less compared to when they were with their partners.

Single with Kids, one of the country’s leading holiday clubs for single parents, has revealed the shocking statistics.

SingleWithKids.co.uk is a social and holiday club that arranges holidays and trips just for groups of single parents and their children – so single parents don’t have to worry about not having a partner by their sides!

Founder Chrissie Lewis says the concept of single parents getting together to go on holiday is spreading fast.

“As a single parent you don’t have a lot of time or money” she said, “and you need at least one of those things to enjoy normal holidays so it’s no surprise single parents become holiday shy.

“As single parents ourselves, we could see that other single parents would happily go on fun holidays together if the price could be dropped enough.”

What’s more, 66% of those questioned found it difficult to meet new people – Single with Kids is a great network to make new friends or even find romance!

Single with Kids offers the largest variety of day trips, weekends and holidays for single parents and their children.

Its power as a club allows it to keep prices low, with a number of free day trips for members.

Other trips currently being organised by Single with Kids include a weekend in Center Parcs in Penrith, Lee Valley country park in London and Shell Island.

And day trips include Legoland, Warwick Castle, Whipsnade Zoo and Chester Zoo.
