A keen interest in photography and a growing family to juggle led one young mum from Kent to set up her own family-friendly photography business.
When Christina Jayne, 29, had her two young sons, she realised how difficult it could be for parents to organise family portraits in studios. Spurred on by her interest in photography, she then started up her own studio and mobile photography business in 2004 – covering all of Kent, London and the home counties.
Christina says, “As a mum, I know my children as individuals and when I meet with families, I work especially hard to ensure I capture the little expressions and quirks which make every child extra-special.”
Christina Jayne can visit people in the relaxing comfort of their home environment or let them loose in the fun and exciting surroundings of her studio.
Christina says: “When I became a mum, I realised that what should be a fun and exciting experience would often turn into a whole lot of hassle. I’ve been a keen photographer for a decade so I decided to put the fun back into family photography myself. As a wife and mum I think I have a unique outlook on my work which brings families back to me time and again.”
Christina Jayne is now a qualified photographer with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, showing that you can train and earn an income at the same time.
Christina’s business took off so well that she decided to launch in to weddings. She says, “I remember only too well the need for having fairytale wedding photographs when I got married and can relate to every bride who walks through my doors seeking a unique wedding photography package at an affordable price.”
Christina has won many competitions and had two of her weddings feature in Your Kent Wedding magazine. She loves running her own business, which still allows her the flexibility to spend time with her children.
